We had 47 students attend and represent our school at the Interschool Cross Country last Wednesday at Harmony Primary.
Our students had been training for just over six weeks. They had all put in an exceptional effort across that time training twice a week and most of them taking on extra running session outside of school.
We had some outstanding results, with just over one third of our squad making it into the top 20 (out of 48 runners in every race).
Ethan and Eddy collected medallions after finishing in the top three. Importantly, I’d like to acknowledge our reserves who came to every session despite not attending the event. They were team players and supported the squad with aplomb.
Great work to everyone and we’ve already set a goal to reach fifth next year, after taking out sixth spot (of 8 schools) this year.
My last thank you’s have to go to Mr Mort for supervising and providing excellent encouragement to our students throughout the event, two parents for taking on a marshalling role (you know who you are :)) and our wonderful supporter crew, you the parents who took the time to come down and cheer on our children.
They’re very grateful for all the support that they get.
