On Monday 6 August, Mrs O’Donovan and Mr Sambrooks judged the entries for the 2018 Science Week Challenge. This year’s theme was Game Changers and Change Makers – the scientists, technologists, mathematicians, designers and innovators, past and present who have made amazing discoveries and answered questions about how the world works. The standard of entries was very high, which made the judging difficult, but in the end five projects were deemed to have stood above the rest. The winning students were:
Lucas (TA1) – boat made from recyclable materials
Kayla (TA9) – boat made from recyclable materials and a report on Archimedes
Bailey (TA11) – report on Isaac Newton and an experiment based on his work
Oscar (TA11) & Koby Dama (TA11) – bee hotel (which has been kindly donated to the school)
Zachary (TA14) – boat made from recyclable materials
On Wednesday 15 August, these students represented Beeliar at the CCEN Science Week Exhibition at Atwell College. It was a fantastic event with hundreds of parents, students and teachers from all over the CCEN in attendance and some seriously impressive science projects on display. Congratulations to all of the students involved and the parents and siblings who helped them to complete their projects. Prizes and participation certificates will be handed out at the next assembly.
Bee Hotel rehomed!
These are the entries that didn’t go to the expo, which are on display in admin.
