BYOD Program

Students in Years 4,5 and 6 are invited to bring their own device(BYOD)  to school as a tool to enhance their learning.

Through this program students are supported to achieve their academic, social and emotional potential.

The consistency of use provided by a 1:1 iPad program will develop vital 21st Century Skills that will help support students in the following key areas:
1. Critical thinking skills
2. Collaboration within school and beyond
3. Creativity
4. Skilled communication
5. Problem solving
6. Use of ICT to support learning.

*These are the skills outlined in the Western Australian Curriculum “General ICT Capabilities”.

The use of a 1:1 device, as opposed to the current shared devices we have in the school, benefits children in the following ways:
1. Always connected and available; no learning time wasted.
2. Privacy and security associated with utilising own device.
3. Consistency of use develops skill and efficiency.
4. Responsibility and citizenship requirements and expectations.
5. Continuity between class and home.

Our aim of this program is for our students are confident, future oriented learners, equipped with the skills and knowledge to successfully navigate their digital future.
