What is Real Schools
Real Schools is an Australian-based educational consultancy founded by former principal Adam Voigt, that partners with schools to improve their culture and student behaviour. The partnerships focus on Restorative Practices, conflict resolution strategies, and building strong, trust-based relationships within the school community.
Building Positive Relationships Through Real Schools
At Beeliar Primary School, we are committed to more than just academic achievement. Our focus extends to building positive relationships, developing social and emotional skills, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for every student.
Through our partnership with Real Schools, we use a relationship-based approach to behaviour and wellbeing that is embedded across all aspects of school life. This means we don’t simply respond to behaviour; we teach students how to recognise and manage emotions, solve problems, repair relationships, and learn from mistakes.
We believe strong, respectful relationships between students, staff, and families are the foundation of a positive school culture. Parents and carers are valued partners in this work, and we welcome opportunities to work together to support the growth and wellbeing of every child.
A Consistent, Student Centred Approach
Across all year levels, we are building a shared understanding of the language, conduct, and mindset that support respectful relationships and successful learning.
Our restorative approach is anchored in the Real Schools P3P3F3 framework, which encourages students to reflect on the past, understand their feelings in the present, and plan positive actions for the future. This practical model shifts the focus from blame and punishment to learning, growth, and accountability.
By using a consistent approach across the school, students develop the skills to:
- Understand and regulate their emotions.
- Resolve conflict respectfully.
- Take responsibility for their actions.
- Repair relationships when harm has occurred.
- Develop empathy and consideration for others.
At Beeliar Primary School, we view behaviour as an opportunity for learning and growth.
Staff use affirming language to recognise effort, strengths, and positive choices, while supporting students to develop the skills they need to be successful learners, friends, and members of our community.
When challenges arise, our focus is not solely on consequences. Instead, we work alongside students to build understanding, restore relationships, and develop the skills needed to make positive choices in the future.
Working in Partnership with Families
Families play an important role in supporting a positive school culture. We encourage parents and carers to trust the school’s restorative approach to managing conflict and behaviour concerns.
Not all incidents require parent notification. Many day-to-day concerns are successfully resolved at school through restorative conversations, problem solving, and relationship repair. Families will always be contacted when an incident is significant, ongoing, or when additional support and partnership are required to achieve a positive outcome.
We ask families to work alongside us in developing consistent language, expectations, and approaches to behaviour. Together, we can help students learn from mistakes, take responsibility for their actions, and strengthen their ability to navigate challenges respectfully and successfully.

YOUR MOVE at Beeliar Primary School
What is Your Move?
Your Move is a Western Australian program that supports schools to promote safe, active, and sustainable travel. It encourages students and families to walk, ride, scoot, or use public transport to get to school, helping build healthy habits while reducing traffic congestion in and around our community.

Through Your Move, we will:
- Empower student voice through our student leaders to improve travel safety.
- Work with the local council to address concerns.
- Build community awareness around safe and sustainable travel.
- Promote active, healthy lifestyles through daily habits.
- Create activities and events that support and promote all of the above.
Scheduled Activities: Term 3
Walk and Wheely Safe Wednesdays (every Wednesday starting in week 1): Students are encouraged to walk, ride, or scoot to school to promote an active start to the day and reduce congestion around the school.
